Harken’s PowerMeter Sprocket reflects the shift in the company’s grand prix customers to ever more data-driven continuous improvement.
The product is a sprocket installed in the head of a winch/hydraulic pedestal equipped with a meter that is able to export data detailing the performance of individual or linked grinders to a data acquisition system or display it remotely.
The concept has been adapted to the needs of sailing from a similar application in the performance biking world.
Using the PowerMeter during training sessions, each sailor can discover weakness and focus on areas for improvement.
The impact of the sprocket is seen as teams shift assignments and team members to optimise grinding team function.
The sprocket will be on Harken’s stand 12.227 / 12.327 at METSTRADE 2019.
