Fountain Owners To Be Bimini Bound
Supported by the Fountain Powerboats factory in Washington, N.C., and a still-growing list of dealers including Big Thunder Marine, which has locations in Florida as well as its Missouri headquarters at the Lake of the Ozarks, the inaugural Fountain Powerboats Owners Run from South Florida to Bimini, Bahamas, is set for July 12-15. The Hilton World Resort will be the host venue for the four-day, Fountain-exclusive event.

Walt Braithwaite of Big Thunder’s Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., location is coordinating for the first-time happening. According to Braithwaite, the run was spearheaded by Fred Ross, the owner of Iconic Marine Group, which includes the Fountain, Donzi and Baja brands, and Big Thunder Marine.
Fellow Fountain dealer Cortez Cove Marina of Cortez, Fla., also is backing the event.
“Fred Ross wants to do this event to give back to all loyal Fountain customers, past and present,” explained Braithwaite. “Big Thunder is hosting a huge beach party the last day of the event at the Beach Club, where the Virgin cruise line rents out this incredible facility.”
There are two points of departure for the run, Sailfish Marina in Palm Beach Shores and Grove Harbour. Participants will arrive to a welcome party on the Hilton property. They following day, they’ll enjoy two classic Bimini excursions, starting with snorkeling at the wreck of the S.S. Sapona and followed a trek to Honeymoon Harbor to engage with its famously docile stingray population.
The event has its own thoroughly detailed website though which would-be participants can register, reserve dock space and hotel rooms and more.
