Former Justice League Skater Raceboat Under New Ownership

Though the 2022 season was a one-and-done for the Southwest Florida-based Justice League Super Cat team, fans enjoyed seeing the colorful Skater Powerboats 388 catamaran on the racecourse, however infrequently. Now the 38-footer, which formerly ran as STIHL and later Gone Again, has a new owner. Well-known performance-boat owner Beau Renfroe of Atlanta has purchased the cat.

Most recently, Renfroe’s new Super Cat raceboat—to be dubbed Dirty Money—ran under the Justice League banner. Photos by Pete Boden copyright Shoot 2 Thrill Pix.

Jason Ventura of Brand X Hi-Performance Marine in South Florida helped Renfroe, his longtime client, with the acquisition. According to Ventura, who will drive the cat this season, Renfroe will not join him in the cockpit. The throttleman role has yet to be filled, he said.

“Everything is tentative at the moment,” Ventura explained. “This deal just all came together in the last 24 hours unexpectedly. Most likely we will run a full season.”

Top-speed shootout man Kenny Mungle ran the 38-footer infrequently when he owned it.

Super Cat-class representative Tyler Miller was delighted to learn the news Renfroe’s purchase.

“We now have committed 11 strong teams committed to the complete race schedule for 2023,” said Miller. “It’s going to be epic.

“And I am working with one more to potentially round out 12 strong in the next two weeks,” he added.

The cat began life on the racecourse under the STIHL umbrella.
