Fish Beer Friday: Busch Light Stream Home Makeover

Fish Beer Friday: Busch Light Stream Home Makeover

While a little outside the realm of our usual beer-review posts, which feature mostly Northeast brewers and fishing-themed lagers and ales, the opportunity to get a pond built on your property makes this week’s Fish Beer perfect for some Friday day-dreaming.

Busch Light is currently running a contest called “Stream Home Makeover” in which the winner gets a private “fishing hole” built in their front yard. I went ahead and entered (entries are open until 3/28), and figured I’ll worry later about my wife’s reaction to having her rhododendrons bulldozed for a bass-stocked water feature.

The contest coincides with the release of their fishing cans, which feature walleye, largemouth bass, yellowfin tuna, and sockeye salmon in a tackle bag pack. To learn more, here’s the full press release, and the link to enter, below:

New York, NY – March 4, 2025 – As the beer brewed for the great outdoors, Busch Light knows that finding a fin-tastic fishing spot is easier said than done these days. A record 57.7 million Americans participated in freshwater, saltwater, and fly fishing in 2023*, and with fishing surging in popularity across the country, fishing fanatics are struggling to find a secluded spot to cast their rod.

That’s why, ahead of the Spring fishing season, Busch Light is hooking one lucky angler up with the funds for a Stream Home Makeover so they can build a private honey hole brimming with fish in their own front yard. The prize also includes beer money to stock up on Busch Light Fishing Cans, because the only thing better than a fish on the line is a Busch Light Fishing Can in the cooler. Plus, this year’s lineup of the coveted cans feature the walleye, largemouth bass, yellowfin tuna and sockeye salmon available in a newly designed tackle bag pack.

“We have always been about bringing our fans together and celebrating a shared love of the outdoors over an ice cold Busch Light. But, we understand the struggle to enjoy your favorite pastime when you’re tangling your lines shoulder to shoulder in a crowded fishing spot,” said Krystyn Stowe, Head of Marketing Busch Family & Natural Family at Anheuser-Busch. “So, to celebrate the annual return of our coveted Busch Light Fishing Cans, we’re giving one of our fans an opportunity to build a private fishing hole in their yard, so they don’t have to angle through the crowds to cast their rod.”

This isn’t Busch Light’s first-time tackling fishing season, the brand prides itself on being as cold and smooth as a mountain stream and has urged its fans to “Head to the Mountains” since its iconic jingle debuted in 1979. Whether spending a day near the lake or casting into your private stream at home, there’s no denying that the best way to reel-y enjoy Spring fishing season is with a cold, smooth Busch Light. From March 4th – 28th, U.S.-based 21+ fans can enter for a chance to win Busch Light’s Stream Home Makeover by visiting busch.com/streamhomemakeover and sharing why they deserve the ultimate fishing hole right in their own yard.
