First Eliminator Boats 306 Speedster Ready For Desert Storm Spotlight

In a couple of days, Eliminator Boats and the owners of the all-new 306 Speedster that the Mira Loma, Calif., company delivered in late March are going to have the gorgeous green, gray and black 31-footer on display at the Desert Storm Poker Run Street Party in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. A first-time Desert Storm participant, Southern California boaters Bobby and Meagan Siana are excited to take part in Friday’s poker run and show off their new boat and its immaculately rigged, twin Mercury Racing 600SCi engines during Thursday’s street party along McCulloch Boulevard.

The Siana family’s open-bow, walk-though catamaran won’t be the only new boat on hand for the popular showcase either as Eliminator is going to unveil its new XR Speedster—a 29-foot, single-engine sterndrive cat with a bustle—and exhibit a 19-foot Daytona, an outboard-powered 27 Speedster with twin Mercury Racing 400Rs and a 28-foot Fundeck with a single 1,050-hp engine from Teague Custom Marine.

According to Eliminator Boats general sales manager Mark Baker, the new 306 Speedster was devised by company president Jake Fraleigh when several clients—for a variety reasons such as towing, garage space and more—inquired about a twin sterndrive-powered catamaran that was narrower than the company’s 33- and 35-footers. So Eliminator went to work, nearly two years ago, and the Sianas recently became the proud owners of the first 306 Speedster, which is based off the company’s 28 Speedster hull and features a new deck with a bustle extending out and down toward the waterline.

The members of the Siana family—above and below—are thrilled with their new Eliminator.

“Jake’s vision was to take our 28 Speedster, which is a huge selling boat for us, and retool the deck with a bustle, and so far the new boat has been very well received,” said Baker, who added that the company’s next 306 Speedster is currently being rigged with twin 1,400-hp engines and that the third one is for sale—without power or interior options selected—because the owner had to walk away from the build. “It’s kind of the perfect boat. It has a 108-inch beam, is 31 feet overall and takes on big water. The first one weighed in around 7,400 pounds and with twin 600s it ran 120-plus mph the first time out. We were pretty blown away by that.”

Baker said working with the Siana family was an amazing experience.

“Their 306 Speedster looks great and runs great, but more important, they got a great family boat,” he said, adding that the boat’s supercharged engines are connected to Bravo One XR Sport Master drives with two-inch shorter lengths. “I like the walk-off, open-bow style, it’s so user-friendly. I’m happy for them that they decided to go for hull No. 1, and I’m glad they went with the twin 600s. The last boat we did with 600s was a 28 Speedster in 2019 and it was a solid performer, too.”

Bobby Siana, who previously owned a 28-footer from Magic Powerboats, has been awfully impressed with the boat’s performance after spending more time in it on Lake Havasu, which is their home lake.

“It’s a great-running boat—we’ve been out a few times and are really starting to get the feel of it,” said Siana, who added that his two kids hardly ever rode in the front of the open-bow Magic, but now they won’t get out of the front of the 306 Speedster because it’s such a comfortable ride. “It’s better than any boat I’ve ever been in. It also drives so much nicer than our old boat—it’s a night-and-day difference. Don’t get me wrong, I liked our Magic but this boat is something else.

“I will say I’m still getting used to driving the boat at idle because you can’t just sit down because of how low the seats are,” he continued. “Once you’re up on plane, you can see everything perfectly. It’s very comfortable to drive and everything is easy to control. My wife loves how it rides and how nice everything turned out.”

Siana, who admitted he’s going to miss seeing the Eliminator crew during his visits to the factory, added that he and his wife had fun with the build process between choosing interior finishes and overall designs for the boat.

Riding on an Extreme trailer, the new 306 Speedster is going to be on display at this Thursday’s Desert Storm Poker Run Street Party.

In terms of the fit and finish, Siana was in awe with the Eliminator team’s abilities overall. He said he loved the boat’s flawless gelcoat, black hardware, LED cupholders, full-suede interior with custom colors and stitching, elite-level stereo system, and, of course, the rigging in the engine compartment.

“The boat came out better than expected; it was well worth the wait to get the first one,” Siana said. “We’re super happy with it. Every time we’re out in it we get people coming over and checking it out. It gets a lot of attention, especially when we’re on the beach.”

Get ready for even more attention Siana family. Between Thursday’s street party, Friday’s poker run and Saturday’s top-speed shootout, which Siana plans to enter, the spotlight on the 306 Speedster is sure to be amplified this week.

Available at Eliminator, this bare-hull 306 Speedster is for sale with the option to choose power and interior features.
