First Canopied Outerlimits SC 37 Catamaran Delivered

The former owners of a well-known Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats canopied SV 43 sportboat called Kahuna, Michigan’s John and Julie Tokar took delivery yesterday of the first canopied SC 37 catamaran from the Bristol, R.I., builder. Installation of 37-footer’s Kutting Edge interior—the final piece of a time-consuming puzzle—was completed this week.

The first Outerlimits SC 37 catamaran to be built with a canopy is a stunner.

“I love it,” Tokar said after running the cat for the first time on his home-water. “It’s very impressive for an outboard boat.”

Tokar paused to chuckle. “I took it easy so I wouldn’t scare Julie,” he added.

Said Kleitz, “Kutting Edge knocked it outbid the park with the interior.”

It’s a safe bet that Tokar, an experienced operator, won’t take it easy during the entire Boyne Thunder Poker Run week early next month. That the boat was completed in time for the July 10-12 event is special for the couple, as Boyne Thunder is their favorite go-fast boating event of the year.

Outerlimits general manager Dan Kleitz said he is delighted to see canopied SC 37 catamaran hull No. 1 go to longtime members of the Outerlimits brand-family.

The catamaran’s rear bucket seats were anything but an afterthought.

“We are very happy to deliver the first canopy SC37 to our long time Outerlimits customer John and Julie Tokar,” he said. “The team did an incredible job on this build—and Kutting Edge knocked it outbid the park with the interior as well. We have proven again that no one builds a canopied pleasure boat like Outerlimits.”
