Countdown to Cannes Yachting Festival 2022: Ferretti 860

The Ferretti Group is adopting an art deco-inspired look for its new Ferretti 860 flybridge yacht, which is due for a world premiere at Cannes 2022…

The new Ferretti 860 is designed to combine luxury with a surprising turn of speed

The Ferretti 860 is a supremely luxurious tri-deck motor yacht with an internal arrangement that lends itself perfectly to crewed cruising for eight.

On the main deck, floor-to-ceiling windows and cutaway bulwarks create superb views from the saloon and dining area, which is separated from the semi-raised pilothouse by the fully-enclosed galley, which enables the crew to go about their business without interrupting the day spaces.

A spiral staircase to starboard leads down to the midships owner’s cabin, forward VIP and two further guest cabins, offering outstanding space and privacy. Two crew cabins occupy the forepeak, both with twin-bunk beds and ensuites.

There are some ingenious touches on the outside too. A glass transom parapet helps bring the unusually long aft cockpit, dining area and beach club into easy union and the big custom-friendly flybridge is equally sociable.

Up here, the eight-person dinette and multi-function bar are supplemented with an optional hot tub and a choice of three different hardtop designs. A water-level tender garage is big enough for a 3.95m tender and a PWC.

And yet, in spite of all these features, the Ferretti 860 can perform a bit too. Power comes from twin 1,800hp or 2,000hp MAN V12s offering top speeds of 29 knots and 32 knots respectively, while still returning a cruising range in the region of 300nm.

Replacing the outgoing Ferretti 850, the Ferretti 860 is due to make its debut at the Ferretti Group’s private preview over the first weekend of September, prior to a show premiere at the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival the following week.

Slotting between the Ferretti 920 and the Ferretti 780, this semi-raised pilothouse design is the third Ferretti from architect Filippo Salvetti and points the way ahead for its next generation of flybridge motoryachts.

An art deco-inspired interior from Ideaitalia and the Ferretti Group’s in-house team allows Ferretti 860 owners to choose one of two moods, Classic or Contemporary. The former delivers a darker and warmer vibe, while the latter plays with lighter, cooler palettes.
