Cigarettes In Action Returning To Hyundai Air And Sea Show

Thanks to the Hyundai Air and Sea Show, visitors to Miami Beach will have more than people-watching—always an eye-opener—this Memorial Day weekend to keep them entertained on the famed South Florida strand. But in addition to the military vessels on the water, aircraft screaming across the sky and skydivers plummeting out of it, attendees will be able to catch a fleet of sportboats and center consoles from Cigarette Racing Team, which is headquartered in nearby Opa-Locka, in action from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Aerial events on both days run from noon till 4:30 p.m.

More than a dozen Cigarette models, most the property of current owners volunteering their time and their boats, are expected to be on the water. The company has participated in the event, which is part of the automobile manufacturer’s ongoing partnership with National Salute To America’s Heroes program, for the past several years.

Accessible to the general public at no charge, the general viewing on the beach extends from 11th Street to 15th Street. Also free to visitors, the show village includes military hardware displays, a Kids Zone supported by Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, a food court, live entertainment and more.

Among the event backers, Monster Energy will have its high-flying motocross team in action at the venue during the weekend. The global energy drink company recently announced its title sponsorship of the inaugural Powerboat P1-produced Triple Crown offshore racing series this summer.
