Cigarette Racing Team Consolidating Parts And Service Department

A custom builder of vaunted high-performance sportboats and center consoles, Cigarette Racing Team of Opa-Locka, Fla., is is reorganizing its Parts and Service department. The new department was announced in late 2021 following the company’s acquisition by Miami-based attorney John H. Ruiz.

Mindi Doller, an industry veteran brought in by Ruiz to head the boat-builder’s then-new parts-and-service initiatives, is no longer with the company.

“We are consolidating departments,” said Ruiz. “We also need space to expand product lines.”

Doller’s position in the department, which originally included restoration and renovation services for existing Cigarette models, will be absorbed by current staff.

“We don’t need to replace her  (Doller) as we have staff with plenty of experience that will continue servicing our boats,” Ruiz explained.

Reached by phone late this morning, Dollar said, “I wish them well.”

Doller declined to offer additional comment on her departure or future plans.
