Boaters Rescued Off Cape Cod | New England Boating & Fishing

Two people were rescued on Tuesday afternoon, August 4, after their boat capsized off First Encounter Beach in Eastham, MA.

Responding to the scened were members of the Eastham Fire Department rapid response rescue team, who had received a call about the overturned boat at approximately 3:00 p.m., as high winds from the recent storm were battering the area.

The rescuers found two people in the water, including one who was clinging to a buoy about 300 yards offshore, according to a statement from the fire department. Both were brought safely to shore and evaluated by medical personnel.
