Bluetti Introduces AC60 Portable Power Station for Boaters
Boats come with batteries. And the engine recharges them. With those two facts in mind, you might ask why you need a portable power station?
Answer: You might not. Many boaters rarely have the engine(s) shut down, or only use battery-only power for very short periods. Larger boats often have generatiors aboard, for making electricity when away from the dock and shorepower, to plug into the marina’s electric when tied in their slip.
But, let’s suppose you like to hang at the sandbar or cove all day. A portable power station allows you to run a household blender for mixing your favorite drinks. And it can run a soundbar or lights so you need not draw down your boat’s batteries to enjoy music and illumination.
Or, maybe you like to use your boat as a way to go camping? In that case, you can use the AC60 to power lights, a portable refrigerator, audio equipment, or other gear saving your boat’s batteries. That helps to ensure you have power to restart the engines when the camping trip is over. And the AC power provided by a power station such as the Bluetti AC 60 can charge a computer, something 12-volts from a boat’s battery cannot do. The AC60’s IP65 rating is a big plus for boaters, making it water-resistant and dust-proof. Its circuits are isolated from the fan vents and all its outlets are sealed with waterproof rubber. The AC60 offers three charging modes, including silent mode(160W), standard mode(255W) and turbo mode(600W). It can be fully charged at 600W in as little as 1.2 hours using the included adapter. The AC60 also supports solar charging up to 200W. It is widely compatible with other solar panels besides Bluetti’s PV120/PV200 solar panels. You can also recharge it from your boat’s batteries or the battery in your tow vehicle.
To complement the AC60, Bluetti has also introduced the B80 expansion battery. Like the AC60, this 806 Wh battery has an IP65 rating and uses the same reliable LFP cells that have a cycle life of over 3,000 cycles. It is also backed by the same six-year warranty as the AC60. It can expand the AC60’s capacity to a max. 2,015Wh and serve as a power bank for other Bluetti solar generators like EB3A, EB70, EB70S and AC180 through an aviation to DC7909 cable.
The B80 also functions as a standalone DC power source with three DC ports: USB-A, USB-C and cigarette lighter. With 806 Wh of energy, it can charge a smart phone up to 43 times, a laptop up to 10 times, and power a light for more than 60 hours. It can also be recharged on its own or when used with the AC60. The B80 supports AC adapters and 200W solar charging via an included standard PV charge cable. The T200 adapter can be purchased separately from Bluetti.
