Blind River Bar And Speedonthewater.com Hosting Saturday Party For Tickfaw 200 Poker Run

Reopened just in time for last year’s popular Tickfaw 200 Poker Run in Louisiana, the one-and-only Blind River Bar opened its doors and docks to co-host an unforgettable party with the Speedonthewater.com team—despite unfavorable weather. Building upon last year’s bash and the momentum created during the past few weeks since the prevalent Maurepas, La.-located establishment that can only be reached by water opened for the season, the owners of Blind River Bar are excited for this week’s poker run and the fun they have planned for Saturday afternoon.

“We are excited for the next few days,” said local boater and businessman Dustin Clouatre, who purchased the Blind River Bar with some partners a few years back and resurrected the hotspot before opening it a few days before the 2024 poker run, one nation’s most popular go-fast boat events. “Not only are we going to host the second annual Speedonthewater.com party here on Saturday starting at 1 p.m., this Friday (tomorrow) is our one-year anniversary party with free crawfish that starts at noon for anyone who wants to come by.”

Clouatre said his team members are going to be giving away Speedonthewater.com swag along with various Blind River Bar goodies throughout the afternoon on Saturday.

“We can’t wait to have all the poker run participants join us again—the Tickfaw 200 Poker Run is our favorite event of the year and we are grateful the new organizers are taking it to the next level in terms of working with the venues and giving back to the local community,” he said. “Last year we killed it even with not-so-great weather and the party being thrown together quickly. I remember looking back at the event last year and thinking ‘Did we just pull that off.’ I was so proud of our team and I know this year is going to be even better.”

The reborn Blind River Bar is ready for its second season of operation.

And there you have it. If are in Louisiana for all of this week’s Tickfaw 200 Poker Run fun being hosted by Blood River Landing—and all of the surrounding establishments—be sure to stop by Blind River Bar on Saturday for your chance at some cool Speedonthewater.com swag and to grab a free copy of the 10th annual Year In Review magazine and maybe even meet chief photographer Pete Boden.

And if you happen to see Clouatre or his lovely wife, Blair—and their amazing partners, Jimbo and Veronica Burns and their daughter, London—working the docks or running drinks to the next table, be sure to tell them thank you for investing in such a treasured institution.
