Boat system experts Nigel Calder and Dr. Jan Athenstädt have released their new Advanced Marine Electronics online course which offers 13 modules covering a wide array of topics focused on boats’ electrical systems, and goes beyond compliance with the safety standards promulgated by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
The course builds on the popular Boat Electronics 101 course on main DC systems, and students are welcome to follow the modules at their own pace and in the order they prefer.
When it comes to crew safety and boat performance and longevity, proper electrical installation is essential, and there are a number of technical issues to consider if a boat is going to have an optimized, trouble-free system. This new course covers a variety of questions and processes to help students learn the ins and outs of proper electrical installation.
The course costs $299, or there is a bundle option available which includes the popular Boat Electrics 101 course for a total of $398. Access the course at boathowto.com.
