Sunsation Launches Reality Show
Spoiler alert: No boats were delayed in the making of the first episode of “Sunsation Nation,” a new reality video series that went live today.
How do I know this? Because a voiceover announcing it is the first thing you hear when you watch the 10-minute episode on the Algonac, Mich., high-performance center console builder’s YouTube channel. And I was lucky enough to get a sneak preview of the joyful, humorous and surprisingly informative segment.
Equal parts “How Things Work” and “Punked”—with a little “Jackass” tossed in for good measure—the personality-rich video tracks two storylines: the Sunsation team testing a 40 CCX beauty on a 26-degree morning (pay close attention to the freighter wake scene) and the “relocation” of Kyle Miller’s office. The 40-footer aces its test session and Miller, one of the owners of Sunsation, takes his office move in casual stride, but that’s where my plot-reveal ends.
You’ll just have to watch it yourself.
Quick side note? OK, getting a sneak preview was a bit more than luck. Brad DiMaggio, his wife, Katie, and Sunsation national sales and marketing manager Ryan Wenk are producing the series. They’re the same remarkable team—Scrapyard Media—behind the Speed On The Water “In The Lead” video series, which will continue this season and the 2022 Boyne Thunder Poker Run (celebrating its 20th anniversary this year) and 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run videos (a complete story of a phenomenal comeback event).
And they’re currently shooting a new Mercury Racing-backed, Speed On The Water-created series, the first episode of which will air in March. I won’t spoil that surprise, either.
