In the News: DCB Regatta On Tap With 70 Entries
–>
For the annual DCB Performance Boats Owners Regatta on Lake Havasu, 70 is looking like the magic number of entries. Sign-ups for this year’s event in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., have reached the 70-boat mark, the same number of DCB creations that showed up for last year’s happening based out of the London Bridge Resort.
“Seventy boats just seems to be the number for us with the owners regatta,” said Jeff Johnston, the president of the El Cajon, Calif. “It’s always awesome to see so many of our boats, and get to hang out with so many members of our DCB customer family, at one time in one place.”

The company will deliver M37R Widebody catamaran No. 16 during the event, which starts tomorrow with a lunch run to Havasu Springs followed by a welcome/registration party at the Martini Bay pool area at the London Bridge Resort. Counting the latest M37R powered by Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines, Johnston and company are expecting 11 of its popular 37-footers to be in the mix tomorrow and Friday.
In prior years, DCB has held the event on Friday and Saturday. The change to a Thursday-Friday format is a new wrinkle.
“We noticed the majority of events this year did this sort of schedule change,” Johnston explained. “It provides participants with a much more exclusive atmosphere minus the weekend crowds.”
DCB M37R No. 16 will be delivered in time for the event.
Following a Friday morning photo shoot, the fleet will head to Pirate Cove for lunch. A post-run dinner celebration and award ceremony is set for that evening at the London Bridge Resort.
Said Johnston, “We could not be more grateful for our customers and this chance to spend time with them as a group. The owners regatta is a small way of saying thank-you to them for them for their support. As I’ve said many times, we have the best customers on the planet.”
