Countdown to Cannes 2022: Sealine S390
The Hanse Group is to launch a new Sealine S390 model at Cannes 2022 to plug an obvious gap in the former British brand’s Sports line-up.
Bill Dixon’s latest design for Sealine is all about making the most of the summer. To that end, the new Sealine S390 features a huge shaded cockpit with two big wetbars, plus nearly 50ft² of foredeck lounging space, with flip-up backrests and a small bow bench, and an oversized swim platform with an optional waterfront barbecue.
A convertible dining table turns the aft cockpit into a neatly integrated sunpad. And the Sealine S390 also provides a pair of sunroofs built into the full-length hardtop as standard, as well as the option of manual or electric opening both fore and aft.
As part of Sealine’s ‘Sport’ line, it is of course designed to look and feel like a convertible on the water – and with its swept back windows and the ‘skeletal’ curve of its roofline, it certainly has the profile to carry that off.
But for those who favour cruising over day boating, it also lavishes some serious care on the lower deck. As you descend the central stairwell, an asymmetrical central zone provides a port dining area, starboard day heads and optional galley amidships.
And in addition to a bright two-bed guest cabin, the owner’s suite comes with twin wardrobes, a king-size island bed and ensuite access to the bathroom.
Based on the same platform as the Sealine C390 Coupe, the Sealine S390 is an open sportscruiser design that slots between the entry-level S335 and the Sealine S430.

With the standard twin 320hp Volvo Penta D4s and Duoprop sterndrives the Sealine S390 is good for a claimed top speed of 27 knots or 34 knots with the most powerful twin 380hp D4 option, although parent company Hanse Yachts admits these figures are probably over-cautious.
An optional bathing platform extension increases the LOA from 39ft 5in (11.99m) to 41ft (12.50m).
The Sealines are assembled at Hanse’s main facility in Greifswald, on Germany’s Baltic Sea coast, but all the lamination work is sourced from another Hanse-owned facility in Poland.
