Statement 396 Cat Slated To Arrive Stateside This Week

Built in Sao Paulo, Brazil, at a facility established by industry veteran Randy Sweers, the first Statement Marine 396 catamaran is slated to arrive this week in Jacksonville, Fla. The 39-footer is equipped with twin Mercury Racing 500R outboard engines.

Hull No. 1 is the property of Eric Lonabough, who also owns the first Statement 44 GTrs center console.

Like the first Statement 44 GTrs center console, the carbon-fiber catamaran was painted at the Brazil facility, where Henrique Paulos leads the in-house graphics team. United States-based Wes Jones designed the paintjob.

“After it arrives in the U.S., we’ll take it to Shaun Torrente Racing in Southwest Florida,” said Sweers, the owner and founder of The Marine Group in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. “Shaun and I will set it up and dial it in there.”

Once dialed in, 39-footer No. 1 will be delivered to Eric Lonabough. The Maryland-based performance-boat fan also owns the first Statement 44 GTrs center console.

“Eric decided he needed a matching pair to add to his fleet,” Sweers said, then chuckled.

Currently being painted, hull No. 2 is the property of Fort Myers, Fla., buyer Joe Oliveri. The third 396 catamaran built will go to New York’s Brian Farley, who Sweers described as “an avid powerboat enthusiast.”

Prepped for shipping, the 39-footer is on its way to Florida from Brazil.
