Boyne Thunder Poker Run Sponsor Registration Opens Tomorrow
Thanks to strong demand and limited supply, the annual Boyne Thunder Poker Run fills quickly. General registration typically sells out in an hour. But sponsor registration, which opens tomorrow morning for the 22nd annual Northern Michigan event, takes longer to reach its 120-boat capacity.

“Last year, we filled all 60 sponsor slots in 10 business days,” said Ingrid Day, Boyne Thunder’s event coordinator.
The slower sales pace for sponsors spaces is a function of cost. Sponsor spots range from $3,500 to $20,000, depending on the particular package.
“Each comes with a different number of wristbands and priority for dock spaces, depending on how we have to make the proverbial ‘boat puzzle’ work after we know what boats are coming,” Day explained.
Proceeds from the Boyne Thunder Poker Run go to support programs for children, Challenge Mountain and Camp Quality-Michigan. In 2024, the event raised $230,000 through registration, direct donations and a live auction during the Saturday dinner-celebration.
Summer’s hottest event, Boyne Thunder attracts participants and powerboat brands from across the country.
