What do you think of “Project Spitfire”? To be built in Antalaya, Turkey, Ares Yachts says this 166 footer’s design elements are inspired by the legendary WWII British Spitfire fighter plane. While we can see the sleek, aeronautical inspiration, no Spitfire aircraft ever sported a jacuzzi, movie theater, five staterooms (including a full-beam master cabin), five crew cabins, a fitness club, beach club, and a diesel-electric hybrid drive system that should allow 11 hours of runtime on electricity alone. Construction should begin in 2025—so bust out that checkbook, and get your pilot’s license sorted.
