Party Time! Teasers Tour Wrapping Up In Key West This Week
Look out Key West—the crew from Maryland Offshore Performance Marine Center is on its way and ready to party! The last stop of the 2024 Teasers Tour is this week and Maryland Offshore owner Andy Imhof and company are making their way to the Florida Keys destination—which is home to Teasers Gentleman’s Club, the continuous sponsor of Imhof’s canopied 36-foot Skater Powerboats catamaran—as part of the Florida Powerboat Club’s Key West Poker Run.

In celebration of the fourth year of the growing Teasers Tour, which Imhof said is hard to believe his team has completed four seasons of poker runs around the country with support from Teasers owner Dave Johnson, Maryland Offshore and Teasers Gentleman’s Club at 218 Duval Street is hosting a Key West Poker Run VIP Party on Thursday night (November 7) from 9 p.m. to midnight. It is an open-bar event with a $30 cover at the door.
Imhof called the party a giant family reunion.
“The Thursday night party is a huge event for us—last year we had more than 1,000 people from the boating community join us,” he said, adding that Johnson throws the party to give back to the boaters who support the club this week and throughout the year. “This is our year-end deal so it’s a little bittersweet, but it is our biggest and best event of the season. After this, the fun is done for a little while.
“We’re also super excited to be back in Friday night’s Duval Street Party this year after not being part of it in 2023,” Imhof continued. “We’d like to thank Race World Offshore for the continued partnership and for allowing us to park our former but not current raceboat in front of the club and bring the bar out to the crowd. If you’ve never been to the street party, put it on your bucket list.”
Calling the Teasers Tour, which started in early June in Sparrows Point, Md., with the Tiki Lee’s Fun Run, a winning scenario, Imhof said he can’t imagine doing the event with a better group of people.
“Our customers who continue to join us at more events each year, guys like Joe Erickson, Shane Jespersen and Bill Nohle who have become our good friends, have made this whole tour idea so much more fun,” said Imhof, who added that the Maryland Offshore-supported fleet for this week’s poker run includes four boats. “The best part, in my opinion, is that we can have our clients come with us and ensure that they have a great time on the water, and stay on the water. I’ve always said that it’s not about how fast you go, it’s about how long you go fast. And with our current program, the boats in our group are running strong and staying out front.
“Mitch and Brandon from the shop go to every one of these events to support our clients’ boats and Teasers—they’re also the guys preparing everything beforehand to make sure everyone gets out on their boats and has a great time,” Imhof said. “For example, our first event of the year was supposed to be the Kuttawa Cannonball Run, but it was rained out so the following week we ended up doing a fun run with Tiki Lee’s on the Chesapeake Bay. Long story short, Bill Nohle’s Thunderstruck Cigarette broke a cylinder head on his center engine. Luckily his boat is such a beast that it still runs over 90 mph on two engines. The next day, Mitch and Brandon were cranking on it and two weeks later they had the boat fixed and running ready for the Rockin’ the Harbor Poker Run in Baltimore.”

During Rockin’ the Harbor, an event Maryland Offshore has supported since it started in 2019, Erickson’s 40-foot Skater dubbed Orange Crush won the event’s Best Catamaran award, according to Imhof, who was particularly proud of Erickson for also entering his boat in two top-speed contests this year, the Maryland-based Tiki Lee’s Shootout On The River in July and the Missouri-based Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in August.
“At the Tiki Lee’s Shootout On The River, Joe ran Orange Crush (pictured below with Teasers) in the poker run Friday and the Shootout Saturday,” Imhof said. “In the poker run, we had great conditions and we ran close to 140 mph for more than 25 miles. The next day, Joe ran Orange Crush 133 mph on the three-quarter-mile course. His boat has been running incredibly well, and that’s a testament to our crew.”
With Imhof by his side for his first time competing in the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout, Erickson improved his speed in Maryland by reaching 142 mph on the 36th annual event’s three-quarter-mile course.
Imhof said he’s not sure how to top this year’s Teasers Tour, but that he knows his crew will figure out a way, assuming Johnson is back in for a fifth season.
“It ended up being a banner a year for us in the Teasers boat—we made some changes, got everything dialed in and I couldn’t be happier with its performance all year long,” said Imhof, adding that one of the most memorable events of the Teasers Tour was an unorganized fun run in Upstate New York over the extended July 4th weekend in which customer and friend Michael Tandoi played host as the crew explored the St. Lawrence River and 1,000 Islands area. “We won the Fastest On The River award at Tiki Lee’s for the third year in a row at 158 mph, which were happy with considering our speed in 2023 was 137 mph.
“It doesn’t seem like four seasons of Teasers Tours have gone by, but when you look at how it’s grown—not just from four events in 2021 to eight events in 2024 but from the fact that at some events this year we had four to 12 customers join us with their boats—I’m kind of amazed at how much it has taken off,” he continued. “The funny thing is that this just grew out of fun conversation and little concept we had. I’m thankful for the support from Teasers and from Speedonthewater.com; they are two of the best sponsors anybody could imagine.”
