Nor-Tech Key West Poker Run Plans—30-Plus Boats, An Owners’ Lunch And One Great Party
A longtime supporter of the Florida Powerboat Club, Nor-Tech Hi-Performance Boats of Cape Coral, Fla., always brings a robust fleet to the event-producing organization’s signature Key West Poker Run, which this year is set for November 5-10. This time around, the Nor-Tech fleet will include more than 30 boats, most of which are center consoles.

The most likely leader of the Nor-tech pack will be the company’s new 40-foot catamaran powered by four Mercury Racing 500R outboard engines. Following its Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show debut at the end of this month, the new model will head to Key West on Thursday, November 7, with the rest of the Nor-Tech group.
In deference to the size of the group and the general ongoing challenge of minimizing lunch-stop congestion at Gilbert’s Resort and Tiki Bar in Key Largo, Florida Powerboat Club head Stu Jones created a Nor-Tech-specific lunch stop for the fleet at Sundowners restaurant. That arrangement has worked well for all parties during the past six or seven years.

In another of fine tradition for the company, Nor-Tech is bringing back its Friday night, November 8, Customer Appreciation Party from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Grand Café at 314 Duval Street. The seventh annual event is open to Nor-Tech owners and their guests, and it dovetails with the Race World Offshore Key West World raceboat display, also on Duval Street.
