Trophy Truck Driver’s Second 37-Foot Cat Is No. 27 For DCB
Less than three months after DCB Performance Boats—now DCB Performance Marine—debuted its first M37R Widebody catamaran at the 2020 Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Central Missouri, the company delivered a new 37-footer to a client in Las Vegas. It was the third M37R model completed by the custom high-performance catamaran builder and it went to professional Trophy Truck driver Bryce Menzies.

The cat had just 28 hours on its Mercury Racing 450R outboard engines when it became the property of Dave Montroy in June 2023. Montroy is a member of the 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run organizing committee, and he used his new prize in the Clayton, N.Y., event that summer.
Of course, Menzies had already ordered another M37R catamaran, this one powered by a pair of 500R outboards, from the Phoenix-based builder. And last week, DCB vice president Tony Chiaramonte tested the finished cat, which is hull No. 27, on Lake Pleasant outside of Phoenix.
Graphic details include a carbon-fiber fade on the catamaran’s engine cowlings.
Now the 37-footer is ready for delivery.
“Bryce is an amazing customer,” said Jeff Johnston, the president of DCB. “He’s easy going and great to work with, and as busy as his schedule is he’s really into it.”
The newest M37R delivered is hull No. 27 for the Phoenix-based company.
Menzies’ first 37-footer was dressed in gelcoat graphics at DCB. As previously reported, he went with a paintjob designed and executed by Stephen Miles Design. In a text message to Miles, Menzies said the cat is “the best-looking boat I’ve ever seen.”
Like Johnson, Miles was delighted to work with Menzies, as well as the entire DCB team.
“This is why we do what we do,” Miles said. “The ‘business’ is a by-product of that passion.”
DCB’s Tony Chiaramonte ran the cat for the first time last week on Lake Pleasant.
The new M37R isn’t the last DCB Menzies will own—far from it. Though the first M42R catamaran won’t be finished until this fall, he already ordered one and plans to have Miles paint it.
