Museum To Host Freighter Golf: Hole-in-One Challenge
The Museum of the Great Lakes is hosting a Hole-in-One challenge onboard the Col. James M. Schoonmaker Museum Ship, presented by Savage & Associates. The event is open Friday, July 12 through Sunday, July 21, 2024, and admission is included with the purchase of a museum ticket.
“Golf is an integral part of Toledo’s sporting culture, and we wanted to blend that love for the game with the rich history we showcase here at the museum,” said Kate Fineske, the museum’s executive director, reports the Toledo Blade. “Freighter Golf on the Schoonmaker is a fun way for people to test their putting skills while exploring a piece of maritime history.”
The event features custom built putting greens on board the freighter and an opportunity to explore the museum while you try for a hole-in-one and the opportunity to be entered for a free year of museum membership.
