New Cigarette Kentucky Dealership Backing Second-Year Rocky Top Power Run

With their first Cigarette Racing Team center console and sportboat dealership launching next month in Kentucky and their second opening approximately six months down the road in Tennessee, Paul Michael Ison and Tiffany Campbell are wasting no time letting the high-performance powerboating community know they’ve arrived. To that end, they are following up their recent Kuttawa Cannonball Run sponsorship as the title sponsor of the Rocky Top Power Run on Lake Norris in Tennessee.

Organized by Matt Rogers, the second-year event is set for Friday, August 24.

On the road again—currently heading to the Hartwell Lake Charity Fun Run, Paul Michael Ison and Tiffany Campbell of Cigarette Kentucky have stepped up to support the late-August Rocky Top Power Run on Lake Norris in Tennessee.

“Matt is a powerboat enthusiast trying to get this run off the ground, and he’s excited to have a powerboat dealer in Kentucky and Tennessee,” said Crawford. “He wants to be a part of our growth, and we are happy to be part of his.

Registration for the event opened in late May. According to Rogers 50 boat owners have committed so far. That matches the total sign-ups for the Rogers’ first-year event.

“I put that on in six days,” he said, then chuckled. “I learned a lot and the locals loved it.

“I don’t really have a cap on registration,” he continued. “I know I am shooting for the moon, but I would like to see 200 boats.”

The nine-stop run will include a Friday night party and a Saturday afternoon raft-up—with a DJ on a houseboat—after the run.

The owner of a 33-foot Donzi sportboat, Rogers has been working with Dustin Boes, one of the organizers of the annual Lake Cumberland Poker Run in September. All in, there are eight volunteers on the Rocky Top Power Run team.

“I’ve known Dustin for three or four years,” he said. “He has really helped me put this together.

“I just want to make sure it goes off without a hitch,” he added.

Rogers will pilot his 33-foot Donzi in the event.

Ison and Campbell currently are en route to South Carolina with their Cigarette 42 Auroris center console in tow for the 15th annual Hartwell Lake Charity Run this weekend. From there, the couple will haul the Mercury Racing 500R outboard engine-powered 42-footer to next weekend’s Lake Cumberrland Thunder Run. Cigarette Kentucky is among the sponsors of the annual event organized by Justin Lucas and Dan Weiss.

They will spend most of July at Lake Norris before heading to the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in late August. Not only will they showcase the 42 Auroris and a GSX.Glasstream center console—Ison Marine Motorsports took on the GSX/Glasstream line last month—at the Wednesday night Shootout On The Strip Street Party sponsored by Waves And Wheels, they plan to run both boats in the Shootout itself.

“After that, we’re going to do the Florida Powerboat Club Emerald Coast Run in September,” Campbell added, then laughed. “We’re going to be pretty busy this summer.”
