Good Boy Vodka Teams Triumph On Both Sides Of The Pond
This weekend was particularly good to Good Boy Vodka founder Alex Pratt. Not only did Pratt earn the first Class 1 checkered flag of his career in the 50-foot dfYoung/Good Boy Vodka Mystic catamaran owned by throttleman Rich Wyatt in in Cocoa Beach, Fla., his friend Rob Lockyer took top honors yesterday at the Around The Island Race in England, the first event of the 2023 United Kingdom Powerboat Association season.

“Rob is an incredible individual with a true passion for offshore racing—he’s the man,” said Pratt, a giant grin spreading across his 29-year-old face “That’s two big wins for Good Boy this weekend.”
Lockyer, who lives in England and owns and throttles the canopied Outerlimits V-bottom, was joined in the cockpit by new driver Tim Linden from the United States. Lockyer and Linden didn’t just claim victory, they shattered the existing average-speed record for the 60-mile course.
Though the United Kingdom Powerboat Association series boasts some of the world’s toughest offshore endurance events, conditions for Saturday’s Around The Island event were tame.
“We turned up for near perfect conditions around the whole course, which enabled the Good Boy Vodka team not only to take the overall win in our class but also smash a 19-year-old record that was set in 2005,” said Lockyer.
The existing record was the event was 111 mph. Lockyer and Linden averaged 118 mph on the open-ocean course.
Said Lockyer, “We never imagined we were were capable of beating such a longstanding record.
“What a fantastic weekend for Good Boy Vodka teams,” he added. “I heard today that Alex and Rich took the Class 1 win in Cocoa Beach.”
