First Look—Class 1 dfYoung Good Boy Vodka Mystic Catamaran Dressed In New Graphics
Since owner Rich Wyatt began campaigning his Mystic Powerboats catamaran in 2009, the all-silver catamaran has been a head-turner. Regardless of its class or backer—Wyatt started with Cintron energy drink as its primary sponsor before df Young signed on in the role in 2012—the sleek 50-footer has been among the sexiest catamarans ever to take the racecourse.
Powerboat enthusiasts on Sarasota Bay this week will get a glimpse of the new graphics for the df Young/Good Boy Vodka Class 1 raceboat while the team practices for the upcoming Thunder On Cocoa Beach event May 17-19.
That’s not likely to change soon thanks to a new wrap designed by Chris Dilling of Grafik EFX Design in Ormond Beach, Fla., and installed by Ryan Beckley of Kinetic Animation of Sarasota, Fla. Dilling and Beckley are at the top of their respective games, and it shows in the new livery—an odd-sounding word if one ever existed—for the Class 1 dfyoungGood Boy Vodka raceboat.
“I’m very pleased with the way it turned out,” said Wyatt. ‘Chris did an amazing job with the design and Ryan did amazing on the install.”
The addition of Good Boy colors has warmed up the 50-foot Mystic raceboat.
“I set up Chris Dilling’s design, layed it out and printed it,” said Beckley.”Adam Willams, who works with me, did a majority of the installation.”
Wyatt and Pratt joined forces earlier this year. Wyatt will throttle and Pratt, the founder and owner of the thriving spirit and canned cocktail brand.
Dilling made sure both the df Young and Good Boy Vodka brands were strongly represented in his design.
The cockpit duo will begin practice and testing together this week on Sarasota Bay. In less than two full weeks, they’ll race together for the first time in the Powerboat P1-produced Union Internationale Motonautique season-opener in Cocoa Beach, Fla.
With Hugh Fuller behind the wheel, the team—then exclusively df Young—finished third overall in the 2023 UIM Class 1 World Championship Series. Wyatt and Pratt plan to improve on that strong result this season.
Chris Dilling and Ryan Beckley combined to give the 51-footer its bold new look.
Said Wyatt, “We are excited to get some seat time together this week and make sure (team engine-man) Herb Stotler has all the ‘wobbly-wobbles’ worked out.”
