Gallery Of The Week: Teague Custom Marine’s ‘Bling Queen’ Enjoys Another Desert Storm
When it comes to the annual Desert Storm Poker Run in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., there aren’t too many people who have been attending the longstanding event on the Colorado River-fed lake longer than Cherilyn Noack, the vice president of marketing for Teague Custom Marine in Valencia, Calif. That has a lot to do with the fact that her father—the legendary Bob Teague, who established Teague Custom Marine in 1972—has been a regular attendee and sponsor of the popular event since it started as the HeatWave Poker Run in 1999.

Of course, Noack has come a long way from just riding around on her parents’ boats on Lake Havasu as a teenager. Nowadays she handles marketing and other responsibilities for the company, including all of its top-of-the-line, ever-evolving merchandise. Beyond her business duties, she’s also married to Josh Noack, who is the vice president of operations and a lead rigger for Teague Custom Marine, and she’s the loving mother of two boys, Cru and Nixon, who are shoo-ins to take over the West Coast’s go-to shop for high performance marine engines, accessories and service.
Hopefully she’s not offended by me writing this—because I know she’s great at all aspects of her job—but her calling is definitely in fashion. She’s been the driving force behind the wide variety of Teague Custom Marine apparel since she graduated from college, focusing not just on men’s T-shirts and hats but adding women’s merchandise, hats, towels, boating catch-phrase gear, event-theme apparel, offshore race team branding and much more. I won’t say she invented “bedazzled” merchandise, but surely she took it to new levels with blinged-out hats, tank tops, tumblers and other items I probably don’t even know about.

“We’ve had a great time at Desert Storm once again,” Noack said on Saturday as she was getting ready to head out for a relaxing day on the water with her family in her parents’ DCB M31 Widebody catamaran powered by twin Teague Custom Marine 1,400-hp engines. “I lost my voice on like the first day and I’ve had allergies so that was rough at the street party. The weather was really good though and there was a big crowd like usual. I’m excited to go on a boat ride today. I stayed back on land and kind of cooled my heels yesterday and then we had a pretty wild ‘desert storm’ blow through here in the afternoon.
“We are going to watch the Shootout for a bit today and then probably go up to Pirate Cove later,” she added. “We love visiting with people here; it’s kind of like a family reunion every year. One thing that was cool is that two brothers from Florida, Mike and Terry Meyers, came here with their DCB M31 powered by Teague 1200s, so we’ve been having a good time with them.”
Enjoy your day on the water Bling Queen—you earned it.
