Super Stock Class At 17 Teams And Counting For 2024 Season
If all teams slated to compete in the 2024 Super Stock ranks were to show up for the first race of the season—the Race World Offshore 7 Mile Grand Prix April 26-28 in Marathon, Fla.—the competitors would, to borrow loosely from the movie Jaws, need a bigger racecourse. That’s because 17 teams, a record-setting number in recent offshore racing history, have announced plans to race this season according to Super Stock class-representative Ryan Beckley.

“It’s going to be an awesome year when we get all the boats out there,” said Beckley. “But that won’t happen immediately.”
Here’s a quick look at the 2024 Super Stock-class teams and their home states/countries:
S-1/S-16—Allied (Nev.)
S-3—Steele Offshore Racing (Fla.)
S-7—JS Racing (Fla.)
S-12—Nuff Said (Bermuda)
S-14—Atlas Racing (Fla.)
S-17—Team Allen Lawn Care and Landscaping (Iowa)
S-21—Performance Boat Center (Mo.)
S-24—Sign Shark (Wis.)
S-25—Team Bermuda (Bermuda)
S-33—Savage Marine (Texas)
S-39—CoCo’s Monkey (N.Y.)
S-42—Jackhammer (Ill.)
S-43—CELSIUS (Fla.)
S-53—Florida Lawn Guys (Fla.)
S-55—Mom Ain’t Happy (Ill.)
S-77—North Wing Offshore Racing (N.H.)
S-89—Big East Construction (Canada)
Currently supporting his 11-year-old son, Connor, at a state BMX qualifier in Florida, Beckley is in the process of compiling a complete list of 2024 Super Stock team owners, drivers, throttleman and team managers. That list will be published next week.
In the meantime, he offered a few inside tidbits on the Super Stock fleet for the 2024 season.
“The CR Racing team is going run and debut a Victory boat,” he revealed. “Coming out later this season, Nuff Said is a new 32-foot Doug Wright cat being built and it will be rigged at Grant’s Signature Racing. The S-24 Sign Shark is father-son-team from Wisconsin, and they will also be running as new 32 Doug Wright. And JS Racing is the old LPC boat that was owned by Loren Peters.”
“It’s a great group,” he added. “And it’s going to be amazing when everyone is out racing this season.”
Fans of the Super Stock class can expect big fleets this season.
Based on last year’s results, there are two key teams to beat this year. Owner/driver Reese Langheim and Julian Maldonado of Jackhammer come into the 2024 season as the defending American Power Boat Association Super Stock World Champions. Owner/driver Sean Conner and Shaun Torrente of Allied Construction Management Systems are the defending APBA Super Stock National Champions.
Beckley who has competed in the Super Stock since 1997 credited, “close competition and great camaraderie,” for the boom in the class, which has become the most popular category in the sport.
“Our class has great communication,” he explained. “We have an email group and a text group, so stuff gets handled pretty quickly. Luckily we don’t have long, drawn-out group calls with screaming and yelling and so on. We try to keep it all civil and respectful among everyone. There are a lot of ‘type A’ personalities, of course, but I feel most everyone in Super Stock class is respectful of everyone else and will gladly help each other—until the green flag goes up.
“I think of our class as the Super Cross of powerboat racing,” he added.
Said Beckley, who will race alongside his longtime friend and teammate Tanner Lewis this season, “There are a lot of ‘type A’ personalities, but I feel most everyone in Super Stock class is respectful of everyone else and will gladly help each other.”
