Image of The Week—Rolling Dice With The Miami Skyline
Despite that we’ve published hundreds of photos—at the very least—of powerboats on the water with the Miami skyline as their backdrop during the years, we never tire of them. Plenty of big waterfront cities, from Chicago to San Francisco, have breathtaking skylines. But on any given day, none have Miami’s critical mass of high-performance V-bottoms, catamarans and center consoles on the water.
Taken during 2024 Florida Powerboat Club Miami Boat Show Poker Run, this image reminded us how much we love Miami’s skyscrapers as a frame for go-fast boats. Photos courtesy/copyright of the Florida Powerboat Club.
The boat, in this case, is an Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats 46 Limited called Rolling Dice. Powered by a pair of Mercury Racing 1075SCi engines, the boat is owned by Craig Lascola of Massachusetts. Not only was the 46-footer one of the few V-bottom sportboats in the recent Florida Powerboat Club Miami Boat Show Poker Run fleet, it was the only model from the Bristol, R.I., V-bottom and catamaran builder.
So it stood out, especially against the unforgettable Miami skyline.
Even without the Miami backdrop, Lascola’s 46-footer is a beauty.
