National Sailing Hall of Fame to stream 2023 induction ceremony | Boating Industry
The National Sailing Hall of Fame (NSHOF) announced that their induction ceremony will be livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube with Tom Ehman, host of “Sailing Illustrated.” The livestream will begin on Nov. 4, at 10 a.m. PDT, as the inductees will be formally celebrated over two days in Newport Beach, Calif.
“With our ceremony involving so many people from various localities and time zones, we are pleased to make it available to everyone to watch from anywhere,” said Ashley Householder, executive director of the National Sailing Hall of Fame. “Tom is a huge part of the sailing community, and we’re excited to partner with him for this opportunity. We invite anyone interested in the sport of sailing to join us in honoring this year’s inductees and their immense contributions to the world of sailing.”
In addition to livestreaming the event, “Sailing Illustrated” will be hosting live interviews with key members of the National Sailing Hall of Fame. Ashley Householder, Co-President Gary Jobson, and Host Committee Finance Chair Andrew S. Rose will be interviewed on the Tuesday, October 31, 1 p.m. PDT show of “Sailing Illustrated.” Topics will include the induction, the international significance of the National Sailing Hall of Fame, and more.
“Sailing Illustrated” broadcasts weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays on Facebook and YouTube.
This year’s class of inductees includes ten sailors: Elwood Widmer “Skip” Etchells, Peter Holmberg, Sally Honey, John Kolius, William “Bill” Lapworth, John Knox Marshall, Charles “Charley” Morgan, Robert “Bob” Perry, and Richard “Dick” Stearns, III. The 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient is Tim Hogan. They join 114 current National Hall of Famers, all of whom are featured in the Legends of Sailing exhibition at The Sailing Museum in Newport, R.I. 2023 marks the thirteenth year of annual inductions to the Hall of Fame.
