Commemorative Program Available For This Week’s 20th Boyne Thunder Poker Run
Starting with the UnRiehl Performance-hosted fun run to Bay Harbor for lunch today followed by a welcome party at the Boyne Mountain Resort Clock Tower sponsored by American Custom Marine starting at 7 p.m., the 20th annual of the Boyne Thunder Poker Run in Northern Michigan kicks off today. The fun continues with on- and off-water activities Friday, including the Stroll the Streets Street Show and dinner in the poker run village tent. On Saturday, the poker run begins at 10 a.m., and includes lunch at Charlevoix City Marina followed by the card turn-in, silent auction, dinner and live auction party complete with a live band sponsored by Speedonthewater.com as well as a drone light show.

And, thanks to Speedonthewater.com, the media outlet that’s been covering and helping promote the event for more than a decade, participants in this year’s event can get their hands on a 100-page, oversize, 20th anniversary Boyne Thunder Poker Run commemorative program while they’re in town.
If you’re not en route to or already in Boyne City, don’t worry you can download the 2023 event program online. It’s available for free to current Speedonthewater.com digital magazine subscribers or it can be purchased here for $6.
During the event, the perfect-bound magazines are going to be available at the registration tent, at the Thursday night welcome party, at various displays during the Friday street show, at Bob Mathers Ford, at the poker run village tent, and at the Speedonthewater.com and Boat Babe Official merchandise booth at Boyne City Marina throughout the day on Friday.
That’s right, speedonthewater.com is going to have a booth with merchandise ranging from T-shirts, hats and silicone shotglasses to bikinis, board shorts and Powerboat Heaven: Lake Michigan T-shirts. So if you’re in town to celebrate the event’s 20th anniversary, please stop by the booth and grab some gear. If you’re not in Northern Michigan this week, feel free to check out the online store whenever for the latest speedonthewater.com gear.
And feel free to provide feedback on the program. The custom-publishing effort was the first for Speedonthewater.com and would not have been possible without the support from Ingrid Day and the other individuals on the event’s organizing committee. It also would not have come to fruition without the incredible images from longtime event photographer Pete Boden and the financial backing from dozens of businesses and individuals that stepped up to sponsor the program. Certainly last but not least, the team at Holland Litho Printing Service—led by president Rick Baarman—stepped up and handled the printing and shipping of the copies in a smooth and timely manner.
That said, it’s time to start celebrating 20 years of Boyne Thunder. Look for complete coverage of the event all week on speedonthewater.com as well as on social media.
